BMI launches first branch in Bahrain
BMI 06 August 2005... Keeping in line with a commitment to bring the bank closer to its customers, BankMuscat International (BMI) launched its first branch in Bahrain today. The full service branch, situated in Sanad, was officially inaugurated by Dr. Khalid Abdulla Ateeq, BMA Executive Director -Banking Supervision.
Speaking at the occasion, the CEO of BMI, Musallam Al-Shukairi said: “We would like to sincerely thank the Governor of the BMA, our stakeholders as well as our customers who have continued to support us. We reaffirm our strong commitment towards providing unique financial solutions and delivery channels and will continue to develop new products and services that will enhance the relationship with our customers.
“Bahrain, as a financial hub in the middle East, offers the right environment for financial institutes to grow as seen by recent surge in banking and other financial institution licenses awarded” Dr. Khalid Abdulla Ateeq added.
In addition to the regular financial products and services offered the branch also includes 2 ATM machines accessible 24 hours a day and will be open from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM Sunday to Thursday.
BMI offers its customers a wide range of retail products and services including savings and current accounts, consumer lending, credit cards and certificates of deposit. Its flagship retail product, the Al Mazyona Savings Certificate, which it launched in the last quarter of 2003, has grown from strength to strength with a significant number of people deciding to repose their faith in the bank. In addition to Retail Banking, BMI offers Corporate Banking, Global Trade Services, Private Banking, Treasury and Islamic Financial Services with plans to develop many more new products. The Bank has a region focused expansion plan.
