14 weekly Al Mazyona prizes announced
BMI 31 May 2006... Bahrain based BankMuscat International (BMI) today announced the launch of its revised prize structure for the Al Mazyona saving certificates offering a higher number ofweekly prizes. Holders of the savings scheme would now be entitled to win 14 weekly prizes in addition to a guaranteed interest of 0.5%. As an extra feature to give customers a better chance at the draws, the eligibility period has been reduced to just 7 days.
Abbas Al Derazi, Acting General Manager, BMI said:
“With these additions, BMI now offers the highest number of prizes introduced by a saving certificate scheme in Bahrain a total of 728 prizes in a year. A further innovation is the 0.5 percent interest, which is once again the highest interest offered by any saving certificate scheme in the Kingdom.”

The revised prize scheme now gives customers the chance to win a total of 728 prizes in a year. That’s more than double the prizes offered by any other savings scheme and gives a distinct winning advantage to customers.
Launched in October 2003, the Al Mazyona saving certificate is priced at BD 50 each and is available for anyone over the age of 18. Each certificate automatically enters into a weekly draw 7 days from the date it was purchased. With the exception of days of the draws, certificates can be redeemed at any time including additional interest payment of 0.5 percent.
The first revised weekly draw was held on the 28th of May, 2006 with the names of the winners announced on a Tuesday in both English and Arabic Newspapers. Thereafter, the weekly draw will be held at the bank’s Manama branch every Sunday at 10:00 AM, officiated by the representative from the ministry of Commerce and the external auditor and in accordance with Bahrain banking and chamber of commerce laws
