Bahraini retail and commercial banking institution, BMI bank (BMI) recently hosted a one day seminar for its private banking customers entitled ‘Macro economy & capital market investment opportunities in Oman’ at the Sheraton Bahrain. The seminar, held in partnership with BankMuscat the largest financial services provider in Oman, was attended by high net-worth individuals, prospective investors and regional executives as well as the Bank’s Bahrain CEO, Jamal Al Hazeem and officials from both BMI and BankMuscat.

The seminar provided customers with an overview of the economy in Oman and a unique outlook into its equity investment environment highlighting the opportunities to invest in the market.

Speaking at the event Jamal Al Hazeem, BMI Bank’s Bahrain Chief Executive Officer said:

“Oman has a vibrant investor relations culture, prudent regulators and a selective approach to managing public finances. These factors work to strengthen confidence amongst secondary market investors looking to invest in Oman and we are pleased to provide our customers with the platform to access both the related research and asset management capabilities of BankMuscat, our largest shareholder.

This seminar reflects our commitment towards providing customers with unique financial insights and solutions and we will continue to build on our synergies with BankMuscat to provide them regular market updates, research coverage and innovative products.”

Sagar Patel – Head of Research, Kaushik Chaudry – Fund Manager and Ahmed Al Barami – Business Development Manager were key speakers at the seminar representing BankMuscat.

“The seminar in Bahrain was first in line of such conferences we intend to have with BankMuscat’s GCC arms in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to showcase our brokerage and asset management services. We are also hoping for an enhanced GCC participation in the stock market in Oman and such forums help us put forth the investment argument for Oman and be the first point of contact for high net-worth individuals and institutions looking to participate in Oman’s growth story through secondary markets.” added Kunal Damle, Brokerage Manager, BankMuscat.
